During the past year, I have written about different health topics, explaining the Ayurvedic process to recover balance and achieve wellbeing. Ayurveda, which means “science of life”, has its origins in India. As part of my goal of increasing awareness of this holistic health system, I recently organized a 2 week trip to India where we immersed ourselves in a rejuvenation program and experienced the many benefits that Ayurveda has to offer from the location from which it originated, Kerala, India.

During our first week, we visited several magnificent temples and one of the World’s Seven Wonders, the Taj Mahal. Additionally we also experienced elements of the Indian culture that are hard to imagine in our western world, such as using Elephant taxis to reach the top of Amber Fort in Jaipur, with extraordinary views of the city and its surroundings from atop of the largest land mammal. In Bateshwar we participated in an authentic puja ceremony for our group. Ending week 1 was Udaipur, where we were captivated with its lakes and palaces built with the unique translucent marble of the region.

During week 2, we made the connection between Ayurveda and what we have brought to life at JothiVita. We flew south to Kerala, where Ayurvedic treatments originated. Here, we underwent a rejuvenation therapy that involved daily yoga, vegetarian meals, herbal supplements, and custom massage therapy every day. While undergoing this remarkable experience, we were able to recognize and embrace the improvements to our health, energy and spirit.

While this trip was intended to help those who traveled with us better understand the roots of the teachings and treatments we share here in Hollywood, it was also an opportunity for me to measure myself and JothiVita against the purest and most genuine form of Ayurveda. I am so delighted to share with all of you a pride and joy that I have knowing that you really don’t need to travel all the way to India to experience the benefits of genuine Ayurvedic treatments.
